Paralysis, tremors, neurological pain including fibromyalgia
Acupuncture's effects on the nervous system have been studied for decades, and it is without a doubt an effective method to stimulate the release of endorphins and enkephalins, the body's natural pain-killing substances. Insertion of needles in the body stimulates nerves that relay information to the spinal cord and brain where these endogenous pain-killers are released. Since all pain is perceived through the nervous system, acupuncture can theoretically treat any and all kinds of pain, at least to a certain extent. Other concerns like paralysis and tremors, which are due to neurological origin, may also be modulated and improved through acupuncture's effects on the nervous system, although these effects are less well understood.
